Fylde Orsino Guitar for sale £650
  • I'm offering my Fylde Orsino, handmade 6 string acoustic guitar for sale.
This is a 1979 model, so it's plenty of time for those lovely hardwoods to mature and learn to sing.
Cosmetically, the front has a few dings, most apparent is some wear around the soundhole (these guitars have no scratchplate, so do tend to suffer with this), but this has not split and is a  reasonably easy repair shuold you feel the need.
Regarding the action, I'd probably lower it maybe 1/2 mm if I was going to keep it, ( I play a lot of electric guitar and up at the dusty end) but the intonation is perfect, and it tunes well and stays in tune with no problems.
There's a bit of fret wear on the lower frets, expected on a guitar of this age,but nothing to affect playability
I've had a piezo under saddle pickup fitted with a jack-socket endpin, this could easily be removed if you are so inclined.
These guitars are in the region of £1800 new, and don't turn up for sale too often, hence the asking price even with the cosmetic flaws.
I've got  an offer on this already, but the pesron has stalled me a few times so I'm advertising it here to give anyone else that might want it a chance to snap it up.
I'll try and put some pictures up here, but my HTML manipulation aint what it should be..but I can easily email a bunch of photos to anyone that's interested..I think I can cope with that.
    Cheers,
    Robbo

  • Hi interested in the Fylde.

    thanks

  • It is still available, I just sent you a message with contact details. Cheers, Rob.
  • Hi Rob, if Rabbit909 hasn't already arranged to buy the Orsino I might be interested.

From your description is it fair to say that the Orsino is sound other than cosmetically and refretting? I owned an Orsino about twenty-five years ago that got totalled in a car crash and loved the sound while I had it. If there is no problem such as any significant sound board distortion or neck problems then I would be interested in the guitar and getting Roger at Fylde to do some restoration work on it for me.

One problem could be logistics as I live in South West Scotland but I'm sure that can be got around. I'm actually going to be in Coventry on Saturday night before travelling over to Telford on Sunday. I was looking at public transport on Sunday but that doesn't seem feasible as it looks like I'd have to go into London and then back out again.

Let me know what the latest is and we can take it from there.

    Regards,

    David.

  • Hey David,
I sent you a message, I'll be in touch when I have any more info for you,
    cheers,
    Rob.

  • Hi Dave, the Fylde has now been sold, it got taken away this morning. I tried to message you, but that function doesn't seem to be working here on the forum today.  Thanks for your interest anyway,
    Rob

    Thanks again,

    David.

  • Hi David,

    Rob
