Criminal Damage- Opticians Window
  • Hi Everyone.

We had one of our large windows in Belle Vue Road smashed last night at 9.30pm.  We have reported it to the police who are calling tomorrow to collect the CCTV footage of the event.  The 2 young people can be seen bouncing their bodies off our windows and then throwing two large pieces of glass at a parked car acrosss the road.

They are very visible in the footage and are probably known to the police who will investigate this crime.

If anyone has any other information they can add, please do not hesitate to contact us at Wivenhoe Eyecare.

  • Good for you for having CCTV, I do hope that if anyone reads this they may wonder whether they were the ones who decided to take it out on your glass, not that you can publish photos or details on the CCtV until the Police have finished the enquiries, but  for those who do want to affect the community...Big Brother does watch and will take action to those who make trouble.

  • Actually, thinking about it, you probably can publish the CCTV images while the police are investigating. Newspapers print them, the TV news shows them...

    Let's hope they catch them.
  • Probably  !!!...fine line there !!!.but not a good idea till the police do the job...  does ones parents  in wivenhoe desire ones sprogs to be plastererd over the web  ?..., im sure we doubt it.!!..make them sweat if they are reading this post.  Im sure they do not want us knocking on theyre front door....but we shall if needed.

This has cost Jane serious dough.....Glass is not cheap, and the labour involved is expensive as we and

.( Thanks Terry )...everyone knows a friend who knows a friend

    d !!!

  • I have no doubts that he will be caught.
And if say, he is on probation then he will face serious consequences!!!

£200 including VAT but a very rapid and efficient service provided by MJ Glazing ( thankyou Terry).

Having your own business is not always what it's cracked up to be, you take the rough with the smooth.

Anyway what goes around comes around in my book.

  • There was a smashed window down the High Street this morning. This comes two weeks after someone cost May Fair £3,000 by setting our toilets alight.

Forget law and order. I'd kick the little ****ers' teeth out if I caught them.
  • The Neighbourhood Action Panel meets tonight, 7pm at the Town Council Office. It's an open meeting, and a good chance to question the police about priorities and where you would like to see resources directed around the town.
  • There is obviously a spate of this kind of thing going on in Wivenhoe right now. It seems the Wivenhoe Auto Centre in Elmstead Road was targeted the other night :

  • I had a window smashed overnight by some opportunist/s. Nothing of great value taken thankfully, some costume jewellery.  If anyone heard or saw anything I would appreciate the information however small. I am in the shop Thursday and Friday 10am-4pm or you can message me via facebook. Thanks.
  • I'm sorry this has happened to you also.

The police collected the CCTV today and will push the investigation forward over the coming weeks.

Let hope they are caught soon and no further damage and expense occurs.

Howdy, Stranger!
