Local teenager running length of NZ to raise funds for refugees

edited November 2020 in General Wivenhoe Talk

You may know Shay Broomhall from Millfields, the Colne, Wivenhoe Tempest FC, Brightlingsea FC, Sunday football on the King George pitch, or the Co-op.

He's now 19 and is about to run the length of New Zealand on Te Araroa trail to raise funds for refugees. On completion it is believed he will become the youngest person to have run the 3,000km trail unsupported (ie carrying all his own food and equipment).

If you would like to support him, or refugees, or both, you can do so here: https://www.goldengiving.com/fundraising/runshay
