A Wivenhoe Encounter with Denis Wirth Miller
  • Here's something very, very strange - A Wivenhoe Encounter with Denis Wirth Miller:

"For many years until his death in 2011, the artist, and legendary bon vivant Denis Wirth Miller was resident in the bohemian village of Wivenhoe, Essex. This new film from Docking Station Pictures tells the first-hand story one one young innocent who met Wirth Miller and his friend Richard (Dickie) Chopping one drunken night in 1982. Herein lies a tale..."

The Wivenhoe action starts at around three minutes in. STRONG profanity is used throughout. The ending should carry one of those flash photogrpahy warnings - maybe avert your gaze if you have sensitive eyes.

I'm not entirely sure what the film is trying to achieve, or if I actually gained anything in viewing. Still, art for art's sake, and all that.

  • Very strange indeed.
  • Yes very strange! Maybe I'm just not down with the arty kids enough but it wasn't for me.
  • Interesting to listen to but almost unwatchable. In fact as a film it is simply awful.
  • Tee hee - you should see some of my Film MA offerings. Or perhaps not.

I did enjoy watching this one from the same person's youtube channel only for the nice documenting of Rose & Crown, High Street and Valley Road in 2006. Made me quite fancy some cockles too. :-)
  • Here's another of those slightly weird Wivenhoe films. Actually, The Only Way is Wivenhoe sort of works as a trailer. Nice footage of the snow, if nothing else...

Howdy, Stranger!
